The Congressional Medal of Honor, four Navy Crosses, thirteen Silver Stars, and eighteen Purple Hearts were awarded to Master Hildreth’s platoon. Master Hildreth, himself, received the Silver Star and Purple Heart Medal for his participation in this historic battle. It was this battle that prompted Master Hildreth to seek out martial arts training so that he could be better prepared should he be sent back to Viet Nam.
